Malaysian filmmaking talents did the country proud at the 57th Golden Horse Awards Saturday night, bagging the Best New Director, Best Original Film Song and Best Makeup and Costume Design awards.
The Best New Director award went to Chong Keat Aun for his film The Story of Southern Islet.
Songwriters Keon Chia and Hooi Yuan Teng, together with Singaporean Tan Boon Wah, took the Best Original Film Song award for Your Name Engraved Herein, for the movie of the same name.
For his makeup work on Singaporean film Number 1, stylist Raymond Kuek was honoured in the Best Makeup and Costume Design category.
