Australia coach Justin Langer has expressed confidence that his team's star batsman Steve Smith will once again start playing great cricket soon. Speaking on his return from England and while going through a 14-day quarantine in Adelaide, Langer rubbished reports that Smith was kept out of three ODI matches in England as his batting did not measure up.

Steve Smith got struck in the head while training in the nets just and concussion protocols forced him to miss the three-match ODI series. Smith had featured in the three T20 Internationals played before the ODIs against England.

Langer also pointed out that players are making huge sacrifice as they continue to bounce around different 'bubbles' around the world and would need to be looked after well. Langer was speaking in the context of many Australian international players moving on from England to the United Arab Emirates to play in the IPL.

The players would then arrive back in Australia post-IPL and immediately serve another quarantine period.
