Medicare for All and Marijuana Legalization Left out of 2020 Democratic Platform On Monday, Democratic National Committee (DNC) delegates voted against the inclusion of two progressive amendments into the party’s 2020 platform. In a vote of 36 to 125, the DNC Platform Committee rejected a Medicare for All amendment. As of Tuesday, more than 600 delegates have signed a petition vowing to vote against the platform if Medicare for All isn’t included. Millions of Americans have recently lost their health insurance due to the COVID-19 pandemic. DNC delegates also rejected the inclusion of federal marijuana legalization in the party’s platform by a vote of 106 to 50.
