Mortal Kombat has long been known for its excessive bloodshed, extreme gore, and over-the-top violence, but what about the characters themselves? Almost a decade ago in 2004, Mortal Kombat: Deception was released and with it, a "Kollector's Edition", also was made available. It contained a separate disc that, among other content, included "Video Trading Kards" (VTK).

VTKs were 90 seconds to two minutes featurettes of 25 characters of the Mortal Kombat roster over the years. Produced nearly a decade ago on the run-up to "MK: Deception" release day, it gives insights to some of the most venerable and popular characters such as Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Kitana, Mileena, and others from the game's creators such as Ed Boon, Dan "Toasty" Forden, John Vogel, and more.

For "MK: Armageddon", there were more VTKs on the "Premium Edition" of the game which was exclusive to the PS2. Xbox did NOT have a "Premium Edition" of the game and was not privy to the new VTKs or other bonus content.

The characters featured are: Baraka, Cyrax, Goro, Jade, Jax, Johnny Cage, Kabal, Kano, Kenshi, Kitana, Kung Lao, Mileena, Nightwolf, Quan Chi, Raiden, Reptile, Scorpion, Shang Tsung, Shao Kahn, Shujinko, Sindel, Smoke, Sonya, Sub-Zero, and Tanya.

Side note: A lot of the videos contain production footage of MK games, so you'll see a few things that are "off" compared to the release versions. Also, Mortal Kombat Trilogy footage is seen in some clips.
