New Yorkers and visitors bid one final goodbye to bad memories from 2019 at the 13th annual Good Riddance Day in Times Square, where they toss, shred, and smash any unpleasant, embarrassing, and unwanted memories from the past year so they can start fresh in 2020. Jonathan Bennett, host of the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebration, leads the event.
Special guests at New Year's Eve will include science teachers and their students. Two of those students destroy two of their frustrations from 2019 - plastic bottles and climate change deniers.
