A devastated mother who lost her daughter to tuberculosis (TB) berated the Health Ministry and Penang Hospital, claiming her daughter was not treated in time.

At a press conference on Tuesday where she was with her husband Yee Kok Kee and sister-in-law Christine Yee, as well as Deputy Health Minister Dr Lee Boon Chye, Vivian Teoh pleaded with Dr Lee for a thorough investigation to her daughter, Carmen Yee’s death.

Meanwhile, Dr Lee said his ministry screened 373 students and teachers of SMJ(K) Heng Ee and discovered that 33 of them are suspected of having latent TB.
