The Philippine National Police (PNP) has received surrender feelers from at least six more suspects in the hazing death of De La Salle-College of St. Benilde (CSB) student Guillo Servando. This was revealed by the victim's father, Aurelio Servando, who hopes authorities will now act quickly to prevent those involved in his son's death from leaving the country. Meanwhile, Valenzuela Rep. Sherwin Gatchalian is finalizing a new bill to criminalize hazing in the country. Gatchalian said the Servando Act also seeks to make organizations accountable for regulating initiation rites. Gatchalian, a majority member of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education, further stressed the current Anti-Hazing Law is ineffective in making school officials accountable.
