Tokyo's traditional Asakusa neighbourhood celebrated its 38th Samba Carnival with colourful costumes, music and dance.
Every year, large crowds attend the Asakusa Samba Carnival, in which thousands of dancers and other performers compete in teams.
The carnival reflects Japan’s links with Brazil, which hosts the world's largest Japanese diaspora population.
