A man has been destroyed to death by a lion confined at his family home in the eastern Czech Republic.

Michal Prasek claimed the nine-year-old huge feline and another lioness for rearing, purportedly drawing worry from neighborhood inhabitants.

Mr Prasek's dad discovered his body in the lion's confine and told nearby media it had been bolted from within.

The creatures - living in discrete pens - were shot dead by police called to the scene. A police representative told nearby media that the shootings were "completely fundamental for them to get to the man".

Mr Prasek, 33, purchased the lion in 2016 and the lioness a year ago, and kept them both in home-made walled in areas in his back yard in the town of Zdechov.

He had recently been denied arranging consent to manufacture the pens, and was in this way fined for illicit reproducing.

Be that as it may, his contention with the specialists achieved a stalemate after he would not let anybody onto his property.

Mr Prasek stood out as truly newsworthy the previous summer after a cyclist crashed into the lioness as he was going for her for a stroll on a chain. After intercession by police, the episode was considered a car crash.
