As a parliamentary standing committee on Tuesday gave the green signal to the Right to Information (Amendment) Bill, 2013, seeking to exempt political parties from being subjected to RTI queries, MP and National Advisory Council (NAC) member Anu Aga put in a dissent note, arguing that political parties, which perform a public duty, must disclose information about themselves to citizens in public interest.

It recommended passage of the RTI (Amendment) Act, 2013, to nullify the CIC order.
