Horry County, South Carolina, officials checked on conditions in Bucksport, on the edge of the marshes around the Waccamaw River, on Monday, September 24. They found the main road and many side streets in the area under water.Bucksport is 14 miles south of Conway, where the National Weather Service expects the Waccamaw to crest on Wednesday at 22 feet, double the river’s flood stage.The flooding is a result of Hurricane Florence’s days-long trek across the Carolinas after making landfall on September 14.
