Bus Driver Witnesses Kids’ Treatment Of Disabled Boy — Writes A Note To Their Parents, Now It’s Going Viral
We all know that kids can be cruel. For some, school is one of their greatest memories, making friends that last for life. But for others, school is a nonstop torture path with bullies around every corner.
It can be especially tough when you are a little different from other kids at school. Sadly, this can make you a prime target. Children’s blunt observations and harsh opinions can tear another kid down in seconds but building them back up again can take a lifetime.
For one bus driver, she was shocked when she spotted two children on her route doing something out of the ordinary. These kids were not being bullies, quite the opposite in fact.
Cindy Clausen realized that two kids called Annaliese and Jorge, who were on her bus, were talking to another kid with a disability. The brother and sister duo were not bullying him, they were befriending him!
The two children asked if the boy wanted to sit with them and offered to help him off and on the bus. These siblings were doing their best to make him feel included.
Cindy was so impressed by what she witnessed and immediately saw that these kids were raised right. She has children of her own and she was so impressed with how caring these siblings were being that she knew she had to tell their parents.
Cindy knew she had to let Annaliese and Jorge’s parents know how great their kids are. So she decided to write a letter which she sent home with the kids.
I am compelled to write to tell you how beautiful your children are, inside and out! This can only come from the home, your patience and guidance, the examples that you set and teach.
I have a child on my bus named Jackson. Both of your children have showed him so much compassion and support. Every day your children ask if they can sit with Jackson.
Some days Jackson is a little sad getting on the bus but as soon as he sees Annaliese and Jorge he smiles. Jackson has difficulties walking and it takes a bit for him to get to his seat.
Today Annaliese looked out from around her seat and said, ‘come on Jackson, you can do it” and when we arrived at school, Jackson took it upon himself to carry out his backpack!
I know you know how wonderful your children are, but I wanted you to know that it shows!
