Concern over the effect genetically engineered foods have on our health has been abundant for years. Now, a new report released on Tuesday by the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine says genetically engineered crops don’t appear to harm humans or the environment. After looking at twenty years’ worth of evidence, none showed any proof that genetically engineered foods were any less safe than others. The researchers concluded that how a plant is made isn’t as important as what is created. They write, “It is the product, not the process, that should be regulated.”
