Ingredients:-
10 Medium sized Mud Crabs
½ kg Long Grained Rice
For The Masala:-
1 cup fried onions
½ cup Coconut, desiccated and browned
2 tbsp. Tamarind Pulp
2 tbsp. Red Chilli Powder
1 tbsp. Garam Masala
1 tbsp. Coriander Powder
1 tsp. Cumin Powder
1 tsp. Turmeric Powder
3 tbsp. Gram Flour
10-12 Curry Leaves
3-4 Green Chillies, slit
2 tbsp. Oil
1 tbsp. Ginger-garlic-green chilli paste
½ cup Coriander Leaves, chopped
Method:-
- Heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves, ginger-garlic-green chilli paste, fried onions, coconut, green chillies, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, roasted gram flour and mix well.
- Add the crabs, salt and tamarind pulp. Mix well.
- Add water, stir and cook for 5 minutes on high flame covered with a lid.
- Spread the parboiled rice on the cooked gravy and cover with a lid. Cook for 12 minutes.
- Switch the flame on letting it rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Lip-smacking Crab Rice is ready to eat.
