The Foreign Ministry launched Tuesday evening a mobile-based app to provide helpful information for Indonesians looking to travel abroad.

"The app was designed for Indonesians travelling overseas, whether temporarily or for longer stays," said Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, the ministry's director for the protection of Indonesian nationals and entities abroad, in a statement late on Tuesday.

Version 1.0 of the SafeTravel app is already available for download on the Google Play store for Android users, with an iOS version also in the works.
