A fire broke out and destroyed much of the historic La Hune bookstore and gallery in Saint-Germain-des-Pres, Paris, on November 16.La Hune, which was founded in 1949, describes itself on its website as a “literary and cultural center of the 20th century,” having been frequented by André Breton, Jean-Paul Sartre, Picasso, and Max Ernst, among other writers and artists.The Paris fire service said seven people had been slightly injured, and that 50 firefighters responded to the blaze.
