Chicago Police released footage on November 9 of the fatal police shooting of 19-year-old Juan Flores after he pinned an officer between his SUV and a squad car.The footage shows the events leading up to Flores’ death on September 10. The first video was filmed after Flores contacted police in the early hours of September 10, complaining that his girlfriend’s father had taken away the keys to his truck, local media reported.The video shows officers speaking with Flores, who sounds upset. Flores then retrieves his keys and drives away from the house, despite the request of an officer to turn off his vehicle.Another dashcam video shows officers in a squad car pursuing Flores after seeing him driving “erratically” and at a high rate of speed, according to the Police Department.After a short pursuit, Flores can be seen pulling into a driveway on Laramie Avenue just before 1am.An officer, identified as Jesse Oeinck, exits the squad car before Flores quickly reverses his SUV. Police said Oeinck’s leg had been pinned between the two vehicles. Oeinck can be seen leaning on the front of the car and firing shots into the front passenger window of the SUV. Police said he fired five shots.Oeinck is seen hitting the hood of the car and dropping to the ground as the SUV rolls away.Flores was struck multiple times by gunfire and pronounced dead at the scene, The Chicago Tribune reported. Oeinck was transported to the hospital in “serious but stable condition” and was subsequently placed on routine administrative leave for 30 days, the newspaper said.The Civilian Office of Police Accountability has not yet announced the results of its investigation.
