Dubai is planning to build the world's tallest tower, but Saudi Arabia might already have them beat.

Dubai is planning to build the Creek Tower, the centerpiece of a new harbor development. The observation tower will be almost 3,045 feet tall. For context, that's about 328 feet taller than Dubai's Burj Khalifa, currently the tallest building in the world. Construction has been underway since December 2016, and the tower is expected to be completed by 2020.

But Dubai's plans may soon be overshadowed. Saudi Arabia is building its new Jeddah Tower, with a planned height of 3,281 feet. That'll top the Creek Tower by nearly 236 feet.

In the race for bragging rights, seems like the sky's the limit.
