Sarvangsana is a form of yoga posture, which aids in maintaining the body overall and is very good for people of all ages.

Meaning :

Sarva means all anga means parts of the body and asana means posture. Sarvangasana means a yoga pose for the entire body.

History :

Sarvangasana is a yoga pose that has been existing since the time of rishis and sages. Today it is the most supreme form of yogasana.

Technique :

Inhale deeply and raise not only the legs but also the back in a vertical position.
Now keep the hands on the upper portion of the back and keep the chin against the sternum.
make sure that you continue normal breathing and focus on the toes.
The back, legs and waist should be in a straight line and should be at a ninety degree angle.
Breathe in and while releasing the position you can breathe out at the same time bend down from the waist.
Breathe in and bring the entire back down, and keep the legs at a ninety degree angle.
breathe out slowly and keep the legs back in position.

Benefits :

Sarvangasana is good for the internal functions of thyroid, pituitary, parathyroid and thyroid and helps in increase in the blood circulation within.
