Root beer is now filled with all the alcohol you thought it was when you tried it as a kid. Remember that? Now you can drink root beer to forget all those childhood disappointments!

If you’ve ever wondered why there was no actual beer in root beer, you’re not alone. Luckily the good folks over at Small Town Brewery in Illinois decided to remedy that situation. Their Not Your Father’s Root Beer comes in multiple varieties with alcohol contents ranging from normal beer amounts to WTF I just got completely drunk off one bottle of root beer!

For now it’s easiest to get this boozy soft drink in the northeast but there are a few places in Florida, Georgia, and southern California that carry the beverage. The rest of you will just have to settle with drinking regular beer and regular root beer separately (putting both drinks in the same cup is not the same thing as spiked root beer).

Have you tried this alcoholic root beer? Which version? What other soda would you like to have a boozed up version of? Have you ever gotten drunk off a root beer float? Did I just figure out how you’ll be spending your weekend?
